Gold ions are released from gold implants in living organisms – breakthrough for gold implantation in humans?

Despite successful healing results by employing metallic gold implants, for instance for treating rheumatism and pain, gold implantation is still regarded as irrational on a scientific basis. This could change now. As early as in 2002, Prof. Gorm Danscher proved that gold ions are released from gold implants and diffuse into the surrounding tissue. Together with the recent study by Dr. Hans-Kryger Kjerkegaard from 2011, these results could lead to an important breakthrough for the recognition of gold implantation for humans.

Since ancient times, men have been trying to decrypt the effect of the two noble metals gold and silver and find a rational, i.e. strictly scientific, explanation. Basically, the conclusive scientific signposts for this were planted long ago.

In his study of gold, Prof. Gorm Danscher clearly proves that gold ions are released from gold implants and “settle down”, as it were, in surrounding cells such as macrophages, mast cells and fibroblasts. There they reduce inflammatory reactions by lowering the activity of the macrophages, amongst others.

The existing data provides a rational scientific explanation of the postulated therapeutic effect of gold implants.

Prof. Gorm Danscher (in a video):

“I consider the results Dr. Kjerkegaard has found to be incredibly interesting since they correspond very well to what I am doing myself. I found out that if metallic gold is added to the body, that is as an implant, gold then dissolves from the implant. It dissipates very slowly and is then absorbed by the cells, which is important for the regeneration of the body. If, for example, someone has gout in a joint, then the gout patient knows that this joint is aching very much. This pain appears partly because there is an oedema around the joint. But when the gold is added, the oedema shrinks, and thus the pain at the joint is reduced as well.”
