Study on gold implantation in humans
Rudolf Helling, medical specialist for general medicine
Rudolf Helling, medical specialist for, among other things, general medicine, acupuncture, neural therapy and pain therapy in Soest, carried out his own study on gold implantation in humans in the period from 2013 to January 2020. Rudolf Helling kindly provided us with the results of his retrospective observational study for publication on this website.
Out of a total of 332 patients treated, 179 received a gold implantation in the knee, 15 in the shoulder, 71 in the spine and 67 in the hip at pain and acupuncture points. The implantation was done under X-ray surveillance.

Distribution of patients by joints treated |
|
After the treatment every patient was contacted by telephone 6 times at 2-week intervals. In these interviews the patients were asked to assess the intensity of their pain on the common pain scale (VAS = “visual analogue scale”) from zero to ten (0 = no pain, 1 = just noticeable, … 10 = unbearable). In this way the development of the pain scores was tracked over the period of the first three months after the gold implantation.
During the period of the interviews, of the 332 patients treated, 18 knee, 4 shoulder, 11 spine and 9 hip patients were still being treated or could not be assessed, since there was no feedback available from them (a total of 12.7%). Thus, 161 knee, 11 shoulder, 60 spine and 58 hip patients remained for evaluation, making 290 in total. The pain values were assessed while the joint was under strain.
As a measure of pain reduction or improvement, the difference between the pain scores before the gold implantation and at the time of the last interview were evaluated and expressed as a percentage in steps of 10%. In order to assess the improvement more clearly the patients were subdivided into three classes: improvement by 100–80%, by 70–50% and by 40–0%.
Results: In all four types of joints more than three quarters of the patients experienced a reduction of their pain by more than 80%.

Share of knee, shoulder, spine and hip patients with an improvement (reduction of pain) by 100–80%, by 70–50% and by 40–0% |
|
No improvement occurred for 5.6% of the knee, 0% of the shoulder, 15.0% of the spine and 12.1% of the hip patients evaluated. They are included in the class of 40–0%.
For all patents with improvement the pain scores declined continuously during the period of the interviews. With respect to effectiveness no difference was observed between Berlock implants and gold implants consisting of classical gold wire segments.
We are very glad that we are able to present these results to the public.
